The Mind Of George Show

Easy is a state of mind

Episode Summary

Talks about the four States of mind and how that inner critic, the one that runs the show takes over my brain in between my ear lobes and tries to convince me that the entire world is ending at every moment's notice.

Episode Notes

Life's challenges often stem from a perceived lack of control, fueled by worst-case scenario thoughts. Achieving an "easy state of mind" involves cultivating awareness and clarity, reconnecting with our bodies through simple actions, and using tools like Scott Carney's "The Wedge" to insert a pause button when things feel overwhelming.

Daily practice centers on becoming aware of mental states—thinking, engagement, criticism, or autopilot—and consciously choosing where to be. Focusing on consistent actions, celebrating wins, and modulating between internal and external states in a helpful manner lead to an easeful state of mind. The key is practicing awareness to shift and be present in a chosen mental state. A recommended resource for this journey is "The Wedge" by Scott Carney.
